For high dynamic range cameras, the OECF charts with patches calculated according to ISO 14524 are not that convincing. Densities are calculated according to the cube root formula result in large steps in the high-density patches. Image Engineering’s solution for the problem is the TE269, a 36 patch OECF chart which basically follows ISO 14524 but implements additional steps especially at higher density levels.
Our OECF charts have the advantage of a stable production process and being strongly neutral. In addition, very high dynamic ranges up to more than 1.000.000: 1 / 120dB are achievable.
The TE269 transparent test charts can be illuminated with our iQ-LED based illumination device LE7.
The Analysis is implemented in the Image Engineering iQ-Analyzer software. For instance, it provides the following results:
OECF, dynamic range, SNR, noise, temporal noise, visual noise
The three variants available are:
Gray patches according to ISO 14524.
Better differentiation of the dark patches. The steps are based on the supporting points of the TE264 (20 patch chart) with a spreading of the steps in between.
According to the upcoming standard IEC 62676-5: Video surveillance systems for use in security applications – Part 5: Data specifications and image quality performance for camera devices, this chart is adapted to the postulated requirements.
